A flat is not dangerous sitting still and it is not worth changing yourself on the shoulder of an expressway with traffic going past at seventy. If there is a serviceable spare in the trunk we fit it where the car is standing. If there is not, tell us when you call and we will talk through the options. Most daytime services run $65 to $85 without complications; after dark they start at $100 . You hear the price and an ETA on the phone before anyone rolls out, and a secure link holds your dispatch slot and comes off the total.

You have a spare
The straightforward version. We jack it, swap it, torque it properly and check the pressure in the one going on. You drive away on it.
You have no spare
Increasingly common — a lot of new cars ship with a sealant kit and no wheel at all. Say so on the phone and we will discuss a replacement tire before anyone drives out.
Locking wheel nuts
The key is usually in the glovebox, the boot well or with the jack. Have a look before we arrive. Without it the wheel is not coming off.
Where we will work
Kerbside, driveways, car parks and garage levels. On a live expressway shoulder, tell us the direction of travel so we approach from the right side.
Space savers, run-flats and driving on a flat
A space saver is a get-you-home wheel, not a tire. Most are limited to fifty miles an hour and a short distance, and the sticker on the wheel will tell you which. Run-flats will carry you a limited distance at reduced speed after a puncture, but once run flat they are generally finished.
Driving any distance on a fully deflated tire destroys the sidewall and can damage the wheel itself, which turns an inexpensive job into an expensive one. If the tire is already flat, stopping is the cheaper decision.

Before we get there
If anyone is injured, or the vehicle is blocking a live lane, call 911 first — then call us. Hazard lights on, and get well clear of moving traffic if you can safely do so. When you call, tell us the cross streets or the expressway and the direction you were heading, what you are driving, and whether it still rolls and steers.

Do you carry replacement tires on the truck?
Tell us the size and the vehicle when you call and we will tell you what is possible before anyone drives out. Sourcing a specific tire takes longer than fitting a spare, so you will get a realistic time rather than an optimistic one.
Can you repair the puncture instead of changing the wheel?
Some punctures in the tread area can be plugged well enough to reach a tire shop. Damage to the sidewall or the shoulder cannot be repaired safely at the roadside, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a problem for later.
I am on the Kennedy with a flat. What should I do?
Get as far onto the shoulder as you can, hazards on, and if it is safe to get clear of the traffic side of the vehicle then do it. If the car is blocking a live lane, call 911 first. Then call us with the direction you were heading and the nearest exit number.
Two of my tires are flat. Can you still help?
Most cars carry one spare, so a second flat usually means the vehicle needs to be recovered rather than fixed where it stands. Tell us on the phone and we will be straight with you about whether this is a job we can finish.
