Car lockout service in Chicago — keys locked inside the vehicle

Shutting your keys in the car is the most ordinary thing in the world and it still writes off an afternoon. There is no need to tow the vehicle anywhere and no need to break a window. We come to where it is parked and get you back into it. Most daytime services run $65 to $85 without complications; after dark they start at $100 . You hear the price and an ETA on the phone before anyone rolls out, and a secure link holds your dispatch slot and comes off the total.

The four versions of this call

Which one are you

Keys on the seat

The classic. Doors locked, keys visible through the glass, and no spare within twenty miles. This is most of what we do.

Locked with the engine running

Say so when you call. A running vehicle burning fuel with nobody in it moves up the order, and it changes what we bring.

Keys shut in the trunk

A different job to a locked door, and worth telling us up front so we arrive with the right approach rather than working it out in your driveway.

Parking garages and work lots

Level three of a downtown structure, an apartment lot, a hospital deck. Give us the level and the bay and we will find the car.

We will ask you to prove the car is yours

Expect to show identification matching the vehicle, its registration, or something else that ties you to it, before a door is opened. It takes thirty seconds and occasionally people find it irritating.

It is worth the thirty seconds. The same check is the reason nobody else can call us out to your car and be let into it. A lockout service that does not ask is not protecting you.

If someone is shut inside

If a child or a pet is locked in the vehicle, call 911 first. That is not caution for its own sake — emergency services get there faster than we can and they are equipped for it. Call us afterwards if you still need the door opened. On a hot day this is measured in minutes, not hours.

If anyone is injured, or the vehicle is blocking a live lane, call 911 first — then call us. Hazard lights on, and get well clear of moving traffic if you can safely do so. When you call, tell us the cross streets or the expressway and the direction you were heading, what you are driving, and whether it still rolls and steers.

Questions

Lockouts, answered

Will you damage my door or the lock?

We use the tools made for the job rather than improvising with a coat hanger. Tell us the year, make and model when you call so the right kit comes out with us. If a particular vehicle carries a real risk of damage, you will hear that before we start rather than afterwards.

I have actually lost my keys, not locked them in. Can you help?

No, and it is better to hear that now. This is a lockout service, not key cutting or programming. If the keys are genuinely gone you need an automotive locksmith or a dealer who can code a new fob to the vehicle.

Can you get into any car?

Most light passenger vehicles, yes. Some newer models and some high-security systems are outside what a roadside lockout can do safely. Give us the year, make and model on the phone and we will tell you honestly before you have paid anything or waited on anybody.

Do you open cars in apartment lots and parking garages?

Yes, provided you can show the vehicle is yours. Tell us the level and the bay number, and whether the structure has a height restriction or a gate that needs a code.

Standing outside your car?

Tell us where it is parked and what you are driving. Have something that ties you to the vehicle ready and we will be on our way.
